Bishop W. Earl Bledsoe

Bledsoe nominated to lead Northwest Texas-N.M. area

The South Central Jurisdiction College of Bishops has recommended Bishop W. Earl Bledsoe to fill the vacancy in the Northwest Texas/New Mexico Episcopal Area, which encompasses the Northwest Texas and New Mexico annual (regional) conferences. Bledsoe was forcibly retired this summer before the United Methodist Judicial Council, the denomination’s top court, ordered his immediate reinstatement.

Court defers East Africa financial dispute

A dispute regarding how United Methodist church funds are handled in East Africa has been deferred by the denomination’s top court to next April.
